Saturday Jan 22 was CRCTC's designated specialty as part of the Rose City Classic and it turned out to be a lot of fun. We had a total entry of 38 cairns which included our working, veteran, brace and brood bitch/stud dogs represented as well. Judging went smoothly and our rosettes and prize tables (yes, we needed two tables!) looked impressive. It was especially noteworthy that our prizes were sponsored by club members! Julie Thomas was our sweeps judge and did a thorough job of checking out our puppies and juniors.
We celebrated the specialty with a club dinner at Three Sheets at the Harbor on Hayden Island, near Expo. About 20 club members attended and Julie gave a short talk on the cairns she judged earlier in the day. We all ordered off the menu which worked out well and we also had a successful fundraiser raffle — we made $188 and raffled off a donated $25 gift card and 2 totes.
This was a fun club get together for the winter, seeing friends and showing our cairns — fun for both two-footed and four-footed members! Check out our posted pictures!
