2024 AKC FIT DOG Spring Scurry
This is a virtual 5K (3.1 miles) that people do with their dogs. The non-competitive 5K Spring Scurry can be done all at one time, or in smaller segments on multiple days so that everyone (people and dogs) can participate at their own pace. This can be a walk or run activity. The spring walk qualifies as one of the group walks needed to get a FITDog title. The walk can be virtual (i.e. by yourself) or with an actual group.
We are trying to determine if there's interest and if a mutual date can be found for our club to do an informal walk, or part of a walk together. Cost to the AKC for registration is $20 and includes a cute medal. Here is a link to the walk information.
Potential dates include: May 4, May 5, or June 1.
Ideas for places to walk include:
- 1. Willamette Park, north on the Willamette River and back
- 2. Esther Short Park in Vancouver to the new Columbia River Vancouver Waterfront area and back
- 3. The park we did the Trot Trot in 2023 (Commonwealth Lake Park)
- 4. The park we did the Toto Trot in Beaverton or a park in Oregon City
