  1. Club cairns have been busy and so have their people. Here are the brags from the July meeting. Ilene bragged that GCH Kalil Chuffed with it All, Casey’s granddaughter, got an award of merit at the Housatonic Cairn Terrier Club specialty; and that 6 month old Kalil Cool Cooper the Courageous, Casey’s great grandson, was WD and BOW at his first show. Vicki bragged that Walter, from Wookie and Raven, turned 10 weeks today and his is doing a miniature agility course. Linda bragged that the Oregon State Federation of Garden Clubs awarded Megan’s photo a blue ribbon – 1st prize – in the pet photo competition in Ashland in June. Fran shared that May 26th would have been her and Norm’s 50th wedding anniversary. She bragged that smarty pants Kinloch’s Cricket in the Heather barks as she leaps out the slider every time, however, if she is wearing her anti-bark collar she doesn’t make a peep; only way to keep quiet outside. Hallie bragged that her daughter Julia finally got her dream job 2 years after moving here; she is the office manager for Cedar Mill Chiropractic in Beaverton; she supports a large group and is very happy with her new position. Her mom is very proud!
  2. Vicky: Quail Creeks Dishing the Dirt (Aggie) at Purina Farms on Sat May 6 received 2nd place in the 12-18 month class and on Sunday received 3rd place in the 12-18 month class. Aggie at her first BH trial passed Instinct with a very nice indication. Ilene: bragged that CH Kalil Cool Casey from Bull Run RATO CGCA TKN received his Versatility award at the CTCA 100th year celebration and that he received his AKC trick dog novice title in May. Debbie: bragged that GCH Joywood’s Brodie McFee at TuShus JE was first place in the 7-9 veterans class on May 3rd; Joywood’s Amazing Grace Qwentessential at Tushus was 2nd place in the 6-9 month puppy class at the national specialty on May 4th; and that Brodie had his first 2 agility runs (with no Qs) May 1-2. Betty: bragged that at the May Klamath Falls Dog Fancier’s Show Kinloch’s Whitlighter CGC (Emerald) was awarded WB on Saturday and on Sunday was WB and BOW. The following weekend at the barn hunt in Newberg she earned her 3rd leg in Novice and received her Novice title; she was 1st in her size class. On Sat June 3, she earned an AKC Novice Trick Dog title at the Poocha-Pawlooza doggie fun day in Corvallis. So new mom Betty is more than proud to acknowledge her as KinLoch’s Whitelighter GCG RATN TKN. Vicki: bragged that at the 100th CTCA Centennial Celebration: Drake earned his BN RN EE, and BCAT titles; 1 leg in open barn hunt with 1st place and high in class; Betsy ran him in agility for a Novice Q; he was fastest Cairn in the Fast Cat at 20.36 mph; he was high Earthdog with two double Qs; he was 1st in the Working Dog class; he earned is Gold Versatility award; so he is now: GCH Scot Broom BN FDC RN ME EE CAA BCAT RATN CGCA and he was runner-up (to Doogie) in the Hexathalon competition. Vicki bragged that Phoebe earned 2 rally novice legs to complete her RN title; earned 2 novice obedience legs; earned her BCAT title and her Bronze Versatility award; she is now CH Kinloch’s Power of Three BN RN FDC CAA CGCA. Vicki bragged that CH Kinloch’s Camellia Hills CAA CGCA (Cammie) made the cut for BOB at the national specialty show and earned her Bronze Versatility award. Vicki bragged the CH Kinloch’s Circling Raven of the Isles RATN CGCA earned her Bronze Versatility award and the day they left had “Walter” a singleton pup. Roland: bragged that Kiowa’s Rhinestone Cowboy RATO CAA (Nucky) earned his CAA title at 20.01 mph. Hallie says they’re changing his name to Kiowa’s secret weapon, call name Torpedo. Cindi: bragged that CH Kinloch’s Garden Party BD CD RN ME CAA RATN CGCA earned her CD title and 2nd place on May 3 at the 100th CTCA anniversary show at Purina Farms. She was one of the top 20 performance Cairns and she performed “ball skills” at the Performance banquet. Kinloch’s Razzle Dazzle Billy Flynn earned his sliver versatility award – a supreme award for master earthdog at the awards dinner at the CTCA 100th year celebration. Hallie: bragged that Kiowa’s Life is What You Make it CA RATO JE (Eleanor) has qualified in 2 of the 3 runs needed to get a senior barn hunt title. Both times she was first in her class. She is getting quite a reputation of the highest leaps at rat wranglers as they remove each rat she finds. Eleanor has also qualified 2 times in 3 attempts to get her JE title. It is Hallie’s first earthdog title ever which only took 13 years and 4 Cairn Terriers.

  8. Club members have been busy and so have their Cairns. Here are the brags from the April meeting. Bobbie bragged that CH Bonefy’s Hershey’s Kiss of Goosedown BN CGCA finished his rally novice title at Albany. Linda bragged that Megan visited Dr Scherlie on Feb 7 and gave blood to send to Dr Simon Peterson-Jones in East Lansing MI to participate in his OM genetics study. Linda also talked with Barb Monk, Megan’s daughter (Mia)’s mom and she is going to participate also. Vicky bragged that AM/INT CH Kiowa Load of Mischief of Adderbury NW1 NW2 L1E L1C L1L L3E RATN (Pub) on Feb 19 on their 4th try at NW3 FA the container search and handler error on vehicle search but qualified on Exterior and three class room’s interior search. Pub received an L3E ribbon. On March 4 team Pub and Vicky entered Sniffing Dog Sports Trial. They qualified in extreme sniffing; finding 6 hides in under 6 minutes and containers which were group 1 pagoda lanterns and group 2 drinking cups. Barb bragged that Yumi (CH Joywood’s Dreaming On O’Qwentessential) finished her championship at Portland with a 4 pt major going BOS over 4 bitch specials. At Albany, Joywood’s Highland Lad went WD on Sat and BOW on Sun. He is owned with Ellen and Richard Johnson. Yumi and Robbie’s brother (Tucker) went BOB on Monday. He is owned by Kathi Dunbar. Vicki bragged that Kinloch’s Power of Three BN FDC CAA CGCA (Phoebe) earned her championship on Friday at the Covered Bridge Cluster in Albany. CH Kinloch’s Falcon Crest of the Isles JE CA (Jake) was BOB for 5 GCH points. GCH Kinloch’s Camellia Hills CAA CGCA (Cammie) received an AOM at the 2nd CTCNC show. Kinloch’s Power of Three BN CAA CGCA FDC (Phoebe) earned two 3 pt majors at the supported entries in San Jose. Cammie was BOS on Sunday at the supported entry. Darleen bragged that Iain (her son) has been accepted to both Southern Oregon University and Portland State University.

Bobbie bragged for Pat, that Goosedown the Critic’s Choice earned a 3 pt major on Sat at Rose City; on Sunday he earned a 5 pt major, by going BOB and then received a group 4 placement. Cindi bragged that Kinloch’s Razzle Dazzle ‘Em BN RN FDC ME CA RATN CGCA earned a bonus rally novice leg and 1st place at the Rose City show on Wed Jan 18; he entered in honor of his teacher, Pam Weaver. Debbie bragged that Joywood’s Amazing Grace Qwentessential at TuShus received a terrier group 1 in the Beginner Puppy show on Sat at Rose City; Debbie also bragged that she has finished her dental project. Betsy bragged that Cairngorm Shot in the Dare BM RE NAP NAJ SE CAA CGCA is the #16 CTCA top performance cairn! Vicki bragged that 1) Kinloch’s Power of Three (Phoebe) CAA FDC CGCA won a 3 pt major on Sat at Rose City; 2) CH Kinloch Hawk Hollow of the Islands (Harry) CAA RATN picked up 3 4pt majors toward his GCH going BOS and 2 selects at the Rose City shows; 3) GCH Kinloch’s Camellia Hills (Cammie) CAA CGCA NW1 LIC earned her RATI title and her 1st qualifying leg toward her RATN title last weekend; 4) Cammie made it into the top 20 conformation dogs at #12; Kinloch’s Doogie (#1), Sammy (#9), Jas (#18) and Billy (#20) made it into the top 20 Performance cairns for the CTCA 100th year celebration.

Vicki bragged that at Greater Clark County show on Sunday, Cammie was BOB Group 4 and owner handler Group 1 and Reserve BIS. Bobbie bragged that GCH Goosedown Bonefy Stick it To Um (Pogo) got a veteran terrier group 1 at the Greater Clark County show. Ilene bragged that 1) Ch Kalil Cool Casey from Bull Run earned his versatility title with completion of a CGCA in 2016; 2) GCH Kalil Chuffed with it All got another group placement in December MA cluster; 3) Brooke is now a mother of 7 – her second liter – 4boys and 3 girls on Nov 19. Betsy bragged that Kinloch’s Southpaw Slider CA, CGCA (KC) completed 40 shows in 30 days of the Wizard of Oz at NW Children’s Theater. Her performance was done with a happy, waggy tail and she knew her entry cues better than her handler. The cast and crew were incredibly kind and Dorothy continued the treat factory as needed. Most shows were sold out.

All friends of the Cairn are invited and welcome. Quarles Residence, 24491 S Larkin Rd, Beavercreek OR 97004. Yum! Potluck sides or desserts are welcome. The Quarles will provide a warm main dish. Jill bragged that her human son and long time fiancé eloped in Asheville NC before going to Dollywood; Jill now has 2 grand cats. Cindi bragged that Kinloch’s Come Back Kid (Naomi) earned her Farm Dog title and that Kinloch’s Razzle Dazzle ‘Em (Billy) earned his Barn Hunt Novice (RATN) and earned his Farm Dog title. Liz bragged for Betty that Kinloch White Lighter (Emerald) was WB on Sat in Roseburg; she also got her first leg in Barn Hunt. Liz bragged that Kinloch’s Charmed One (Pippa) was WB on Friday at Roseburg and that Bobbin got her barn hunt open title. Vicky bragged that Quail Creek Dishing the Dirt (Aggie) on 11/19 took Reserve from the 6-9 puppy class and on 11/20 took WB from the 9-12 puppy class at the Roseburg show cluster. Hallie bragged that at last weekend’s barn hunt, she found out that Eleanor has a fan club. People say that she is a one in a million hunter and that she is “special”. She even had a photographer take pictures for free. Bobbie bragged that GCH Bonefy’s Joyful Noise was BOB on Friday in Roseburg and want on to a owner/handler group 3. CH Bonefy’s Hershey’s Kiss of Goosedown BN earned 2 legs of his Novice Rally title in Roseburg. This last weekend he earned his CGCA and also proved himself proficient at barn hunt. Vicki bragged that on Dec 3/4 at the Greater Clark County OB/Rally event they also had certification for FDC title – Drake and Phoebe are now Farm Dog certified and Cammie has 1 pass toward her title. Dec 3 at GCCKC show, Drake qualified for a 2nd leg in BN with a score of 188; on Nov 26 Phoebe earned her 2nd leg in barn hunt novice; on Nov 27 Drake earned his 1st leg in Barn Hunt Open and high in class; and that Cammie was BOB on Sat with an OHS Group 1.
