  3. January Brags

    Club members have been busy and so have their dogs. Here are the brags from the January meeting. Debbie bragged that Joywood’s Amazing Grace Qwintessential @ TuSchus got her first major by going WB at Ridgefield on 12/10/17. Bobbie bragged the GCH Bonefy’s Joyful Noise got a group 4 in the owner/handler group on Sunday at the GCCKC show. Marie bragged that Quail Creek’s Tugboat was BOB at Rogue Valley on Nov 18th, and BOB and group 4 in the owner handler class at Clark County on Dec 9th and BOB at the Clark County show on 12/10. Debbie D bragged that her upcoming pottery sale on Saturday 1/6 is likely to be a big hit. Barb bragged that Yumi (CH Joywood’s Dreaming On O’Qwentessential) went BOS and Select at the Vancouver show in Dec; and that CH Joywood’s Belinda’s Dream and GCH DeRan’s Chosen One had 5 boys and 1 girl in Nov. Fran bragged that in March, she and Sam will be traveling to Israel for an educational excursion for 12 days. Hallie bragged that Kiowa’s Life Is What You Make It, FDC JE CA RATO (aka Eleanor) will receive a bronze versatility award from the CTCA; we are very proud of this little dog who has overcome so much to do such amazing things. This is Eleanor’s first CTCA award and also Hallie’s first CTCA award for any cairn. Cindi is preparing to resume her role as Kinloch Cairns official puppy nanny as soon as Phoebe delivers – at any moment. Betty bragged that at the GCCKC performance weekend on 12/3/17 Kinloch’s Whitelighter CGC RATN TKN (aka Emerald) earned her Farm Dog title and her Advanced Trick Dog title.

    Club members and their dogs have been very busy. Here are the brags from the December club meeting. Ilene bragged that GCH Kalil Chuffed With It All has been a wonderful mom to her 6 puppies, all of whom have now been placed and human mom, Ilene, will be keeping a male and female – names to be announced soon. Vicki bragged that In October at the CTCA Roving National at Montgomery Ch KinLoch's Power of Three CD BN RN FDC CAA BCAT CGCA aka "Phoebe" earned her Novice JWW title and two legs towards her Standard and Fast titles. She also ran 3 lure coursing runs. She then picked up 13 Grand CH points the next weekend in Boise, ID. Also in Boise, ID. GCH KinLoch's Camellia Hills CAA CGCA aka "Cammie" completed her Grand Champion Bronze title. KinLoch's Lady of the Lake aka "Pippin" earned 5 points and a CTCA breeder's cup under breeder judge Karen Wilson and KinLoch's Southpaw Slider BN RN NA NAJ JE CA RATN CGCA aka KC picked up a 4 point major. GrCH Scotch Broom Golden Hind of the Isles aka "Drake" earned his Novice JWW title in November with Liz Sterry handling him. Hallie bragged that Kiowa’s Life is What you Make It (Eleanor) has been cleared by her vet to begin agility training. Not only does she love it, but she is super-fast and the star of her Foundation class; she will start classes in a real barn tomorrow; Hallie will need to do some serious aerobics to keep up with her. Hallie also bragged that Kiowa’s Rhinestone Cowboy (Nucky) unexpectedly did the “send” obstacles in a Fast class at the agility trial, so Hallie had to quickly make up the remainder of the course; he got his 1st qualifying score and a 2nd place; anyone who knows Nucky at trials knows he’s just not into them, so this was extremely exciting. Vicky bragged that CH Kiowa Load of Mischief of Adderbury (Pub) at the GCCKC AKC Scent Work Trials qualified in 9 trials received a 4th place in Buried Novice and a 3rd place in Container Novice; he has two new titles: Scent Work Novice Container (SNC) and Scent Work Novice Interiors (SNI); he has 2 legs in Buried Novice and 1 leg in Exterior. Debbie bragged that Joywood’s Amazing Grace Quintessential @ Tushus got promoted to Agility Foundation class. Cindi bragged that Kinloch Razzle Dazzle ‘Em BN RN FDC CA RATN CGCA (Billy Flynn) earned 2 novice legs and his CD title at the Roseburg show; and that he killed a rate in Roseburg. Bobbie bragged the Bonefy’s Ruby Tuesday in the 4-6 month puppy class received a group 3 and then got a group 1 in the Greater Clark County match. Betsy bragged that GCH Kinloch’s Shadowood BN RA NAJ CGCA CAA RATN now has an AKC Trick Dog Advanced title – Oz Man.

    Club cairns have been busy and so have their people. Here are the brags from the November meeting. Peggy bragged that Dundee has received his BCAT title – first FAST CAT title at 150 points. Bobbie bragged that Joy gave birth to 4 healthy girl puppies on July 19th and Cayenne followed with 2 girls and 1 boy on July 20th – puppies will be 16 weeks old tomorrow. Debbie bragged that Joywood’s Amazing Grace Qwintessential @ TuSchus was: WB at Vancouver KC on Sat Oct 28th; WB and BOW at Rogue Valley KC in Central Point on Friday 11/3; and WB at Southern OR KC in Central Point on Sunday 11/5. Susan bragged that Goosedown’s Critics Choice and Kiowa’s Lavender and Lace from Bonefy are the proud parents of Ike and Tina Turner, born Saturday 9/16/17. Susan also bragged the in the first OSU women’s basketball game – 90 to 47 win over Concordia. Linda bragged that on a recent vet visit, Megan weighed in at 19.4 lbs, down from 23.8 lbs two years ago; she has met the vet recommendation for being under 20 lbs. Ilene bragged that Kalil Cool Cooper the Courageous, bred, owned, and loved by Ilene Kaplan, was WD at the Centennial Roving National at Montgomery. He is a Casey great grandson. This was a 5 point goblet win. Cindi bragged that Kinloch’s Come Back Kid (Naomi) celebrated her 4th birthday of Oct 23. She is the youngest of CH Cairndale’s Stirling Affair (Zoe) great grandchildren.

    While there was no quorum of members at the meeting thank heavens there are always Cairn brags to share! Barb bragged that she and Belinda survived a trip to Illinois last month; we have now experienced the Quad Cities in Feb and Sept. Cindi bragged that she is now the proud grandparent of their 3rd grandchild – Sundance Rose – who was born on 8/38/17. She has already met Jasmine, Billy, and Naomi and her own family dog, Wyatt. She is totally comfortable with canines. Debbie bragged that Grace Qwintessential at TuSchus got her 1st point at Chehalis WA on 9/16/17 going BOW and WB. Linda bragged that Megan caught another rat this week Wednesday – she is #1 rat catcher.

    Attendance was light at our September club meeting but there were brags to be shared! Linda bragged that when she got Megan 2 years ago she weighed 23.8 pounds; last week at her annual exam she weighed 21 pounds; she’s looking finer than frog’s hair. Barb bragged that Joywood’s Highland Lad went WD for a major at the Saturday show of the specialty show weekend and WD and BOW on Sunday. He is owned by Ellen/Richard Johnson and Barbara/Larry McNamee.

  14. Fun Day and Toto Trot (new date)

    Annual CRCTC Fun Day combined with the Toto Trot Willow Picnic Shelter Bring your best friend(s), a chair, a potluck dish and your fun-loving self! If you have an ex-pen and a pop up canopy bring those too, this event goes on rain or shine! Here is what we have in store for you: Schedule 9:00 Toto Trot registration. No entry fee but your tax deductible donation welcomed. Donations benefit The Little Dog Laughed, an all-volunteer organization that teaches relationship and problem-solving skills to at-risk youths. 10:00 am Toto Trot begins. Get to know our club members and maybe learn about your Cairn Terrier or the breed on a group walk. 11:30 Lunch is served. Club will provide hot dogs, buns, condiments, plates & flatware. Bring your favorite potluck dish to share with us. 12:30-1:45 Games for dogs! 1:45 Raffle drawing - three great prizes. You must be present to win. 2:00 - 3:30 Games for humans! All times are approximate :-) Come join us on Saturday! Let's have the biggest Toto Trot yet! Please note: the park charges $5 for day parking

    We are active in Cairn-related activities locally but are not breeding at this time. Our dogs keep busy primarily with obedience, earthdog, and coursing ability tests.
