  1. Rosemary Wilson

It is with great sadness I report the passing of long time Cairn breeder, owner, and handler, Rosemary Wilson. Rosemary passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, after a courageous battle against cancer. She is survived by her husband, of many years, Jerry. Jerry and Rosemary were 2 of our early club members. These Canadian friends often visited during the Rose City Classic when traveling to Arizona seeking warmer weather. A stop at the Albany shows was often on their agenda during their return to Vancouver Island. Rosemary was often the "life of the party" at the Canadian shows and a hard worker in the British Columbia Cairn Terrier Club. I'm sure she will be missed. There will be a memorial for Rosemary sometime in the spring. Details will be provided when they are available. In the meantime, if you'd like to send a card to Jerry, his address is: Jerry Wilson 1480 White Pine Terrace Victoria, British Columbia V9B 6J3 Remember … Canadian postage will differ from the U.S. forever stamp
  2. I believe that communication needs a topic of its own. I believe the animosity and discord at our specialty was not visible to our guests and that was a good thing. We seem to be great at that. Another thing that we are great at is the ability to take on a task, perform it without micro-management, ask for assistance if we need it, and complete the task in a timely manner. After this specialty and the anger expressed (verbally and non-verbally) by myself and so many others, I really doubt that I would ever want to be involved in the planning and execution of a specialty again. This was not a fun experience for me. I certainly hope that it is many, many, years before we host a national or roving (whatever the parent club wants to call it) specialty again.
  3. I'm starting to plan some of the baskets for the 2016 Specialty. One of the baskets that I would like to prepare, and I can start now, is a gift card basket or maybe tree. I'm looking for club members to donate gift cards throughout the next 9 months. Over that period of time I'm hoping to collect enough gift cards to make a very appealing basket that will raise a fair amount of money for us. Please donate a gift card or more. You may mail them to me or give them to me at a meeting or other club event. Thank you in advance for your generous contribution. Susan
