Calling All Cairn Terriers … the Columbia River Cairn Terrier Club invites you and your Humans to a Cairntastic Fun Day in the park.
Saturday, September 5, 2015 beginning at 10 A.M in Milo McIver Park, Estacada, OR. Find us in the Hemlock group picnic area.
This event is free! The park itself charges a Day Use parking fee of $5 - payable at the booth on your way into the park.
This year we're all about the picnic, socializing, and having low-key fun with our two and four legged friends. There will be assorted Games and Activities for people and dogs, including Diving for Hot Dogs, a Pooper Scooper Race, a Costume Contest, Prizes and a Raffle.
Our Picnic Lunch will be a Potluck of salads, side dishes, desserts and appetizers, with the Club providing the main dish.
In memory of the first (and three-time) "Fastest Cairn Terrier in the Northwest" we have commissioned the Barley Cup and run races every picnic. Join in for some Barley Cup Challenge Racing! Anyone wishing to compete for possession of the traveling Barley Cup may enter an optional trophy dash competition. This year we'll be doing a series of single-elimination runs after lunch. Practice in the morning and race for glory in the afternoon. All racing is free. We do ask that if you win the Barley Cup you make sure it makes it to next year's event!
This event goes on rain or shine. It's alway fun, rain or shine! For added comfort, bring shade and an X-Pen for your dog, if you have one handy, and a comfortable chair for yourself. There are also picnic tables around if you're traveling light.
