Exams: starting at 9:00
Dr. Paul Scherlie Jr., DVM, Diplomate ACVO
$15.00 per dog.
Please plan to bring your Cairn Terrier(s) to our annual Eye Clinic. Read on for more info!
Based on what is known from research, pet Cairn Terriers over the age of two should be checked every other year for signs of ocular melanosis and for eye disease generally until they are 13 years old. Active breeding Cairns and Cairns that might be bred should be checked annually. The exams are painless and take only a few minutes. If you read the attached information we think you’ll agree that regular eye health screenings are important for our own dogs’ health and well-being, as well as for our breed’s future.

By offering these clinics and combining some fun activities with them, we’re doing our best to make it affordable, easy, and fun to get this screening done, for everyone from a single pet owner to an active breeder.
The Eye Clinic will be held Saturday morning, October 1, 2005, with appointments beginning at 9:00 AM. Allow 15 minutes before your appointment to allow time for eye drops to dilate your dog’s eyes before the exam, and to fill out an additional exam form.
Our vet will be Dr. Paul Scherlie Jr., DVM, Diplomate ACVO. Exams will be only $15.00 per dog – a substantial discount! Micro-chipping will also be available for a nominal added cost. The clinic will be held at Jane Stump’s FurClan Kennels in Gresham Oregon (address below).
Multiple dogs from the same home will be scheduled back-to-back to make it easier for you to get them all done at once. If you can, please bring each Cairn Terrier’s pedigree with you. Please read the attached information, complete the pre-registration form for each Cairn Terrier you plan to bring to the clinic, and send the form and $15 per animal (checks payable to Dr. Paul Scherlie Jr) to Jane Stump.
In addition to the exam, there will be a full day of fun and activities for you and your dog. Browse the Cairn Store for books and memorabilia, try your hand at with agility, earthdog tunnels, rally obedience exercises, handling practice, or grooming. Meet breeders and other Cairn owners. Catch up on the events calendar for upcoming events. And there will be a raffle!
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to call. We want to do whatever you can to make this day a success for Cairn Eye Health.
Thanks! See you in October!
